Labor Day 2008

Just some fun times with the family on Labor Day 2008. We really had a great time relaxing and visiting.

Just thought I would show you how the house that I grew up in looks after Hurricane Katrina.  Mr. Z, one of the instructors at Elaine Steven Beauty College, is standing in front of the house I grew up in (you can see part of the roof in the background).  Much of the neighborhood still looks like this even this many years later.

Elaine Steven Beauty College had a wonderful conference in New Orleans with a group of WONDERFUL people from the Nuts and Bolts Training Company. The first picture is of Mr. Z keeping up with the information on his laptop. The next picture is of my manager, Ms. Dorothy. The following picture is of Johnny (yea, he does dress up occasionally), and the last picture is of me enjoying myself at the seminar.

Here are some pictures that were taken from our balcony in Destin, Florida. There were 3 dolphin playing right near the beach by our resort. I took a picture of a lady in the water near the dolphin so you could see how close to the shore the dolphin were playing.

Here are some pictures of the July 2008 flood in Winfield, Missouri. The waters did not go down for about a month.

July 4 2008 Shrimp Fest

On July 4, 2008 we had a shrimp fest. My mom was in New Orleans and she brought back 40 pounds of fresh shrimp. We boiled it and poured it out onto a piece of 6 foot plywood. This is an annual thing at our house. Hope you like it.

July 2, 2008 Storm

Here are some pictures of a rainbow that we saw from our front yard on July 2, 2008. This was actually a full rainbow but I couldn't get the whole thing on the camera. It was a double rainbow before this, but I couldn't get my camera out fast enough.
